The founder story
It started in a dirt hole.
Several years ago, my wife Rachel and I were building our home at the base of Paris Mountain. One afternoon I was standing in what would become our basement, talking with the grading contractor moving dirt around the site. He asked what I did. When I told him, he said: “Could you help me with my website? I'm really good at moving dirt. I'm not good at smartphones.” I said yes.
The next day my gutter guy needed a real email address. Then my landscaper wanted a website redesign. My painter had only ever gotten work by referral and wondered if he could get found online. Yes. Yes. Yes. Many contractors who worked on our house became early clients — and by the time the house was finished, an agency had been built too.
I'd spent over a decade in higher education enrollment management, earned my Master's Degree in Education from Clemson, and learned how to convince college students to take action. Then I ran an e-commerce store that taught me how to sell things online. So when ChatGPT launched in late 2022, I knew the way people find businesses was about to change — and went all in on AI search. White Oak Digital exists to help local service businesses build organic visibility that compounds and keeps them profitable through every season. We work close to home on purpose. We love the Greenville area and love working with local businesses.
